This was a shoot to assist street kids in Cape Town for NGO, the Homestead .
These kids are begging, and sleeping on the street.
Years of sniffing glue can affect their bodies so badly that they start to look like rag dolls.
Often these kids are involved in petty crime.
Couple this with abandonment, or abuse, and you’ve got a bunch of kids with trauma in their lives.
The Homestead team takes them off the streets and offers them a place to sleep. Six months later the same boys are striding it out, blocking and striking with agility, strength and confidence.
Such is the power of nurture.
